Nearby Family Fun This Fall

In addition to the perfect trip up to the mountains to experience Colorado’s beautiful fall colors, consider these options in and around Denver for you and your family to enjoy.

The Four Mile Historic Parks hosts their Pumpkin Harvest Festival on October 5 and 6 this year. Nearby, this festival is free (charge for pumpkins and some activities) and has old-time dress-up and photos, create your own scarecrow, old time music, games, and crafts.

The Botanic Gardens at Chatfield will host their Pumpkin Festival the following weekend from Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13. With a pick your own pumpkin patch, pony rides, music, and face-painting, this festival never disappoints!

If you haven’t picked your pumpkin yet, and you would like a (slightly) more authentic experience, head up to Rock Creek Farms in Broomfield for “U-Pick-Em Pumpkins.” There is no admission charge and fields and fields of pumpkins for your pickin’! Check their website for dates and times.

A slightly longer trip, but one that is well worth it, is up to Sunflower Farms in Longmont. Visitors can enjoy a real working farm geared toward children’s play and families. Included with admission are pony rides, a hay maze, feeding the animals, a hay wagon ride and more!

Happy Fall!
