Police District 3 Watch your Car

    Colorado Watch Your Car program

A public announcement was made on November 16, 2002 to introduce the Colorado Watch Your Car program.

The Watch Your Car program is a free and voluntary auto theft prevention program. Vehicle owners sign an agreement stating that their vehicle is not normally driven between the hours of 1:00am and 5:00am. The registered owners of the vehicle display two watch you car decals on their vehicles. One is placed on the front windshield and the second is placed on the rear window. If law enforcement sees the vehicle being driven between the hours of 1:00am and 5:00am, the officer has the owners permission to stop the vehicle for the purpose of conducting an investigation to determine if the vehicle has been stolen.

The Colorado Watch Your Car program will be administered at the Leetsdale Market Place Copshop on November 23, 2002 from 10:00am until 3:00pm.

When registered for the program, you will receive a free “Club” as a gift. The “Club” is a security device that attaches to your vehicle’s steering wheel. When the “Club” is attached, your car is more difficult to steal. The retail value of the ‘Club” is $19.95.

You need to bring your car, your vehicle registration, and your driver’s license.

The police and storefront volunteers will do the rest!

Please contact The COP Shop at 303-329-0500 with any questions.
