Denver 2003 Master Composter Training and Outreach Program

The Master Composter Training and Outreach Program is a fun way to both learn about composting and give back to your community.

Receive 40 hours of instruction in backyard composting, compost science, compost bin construction, vermicomposting (composting with worms), integrated solid waste management and community outreach. Serious stuff, but we make it fun!

In exchange for your training, you'll pay a $25 classroom fee, and you'll be required to return 40 hours of community service teaching composting to Denver residents. You'll have a year to complete your community-service requirement.

You need not be an experienced composter or gardener to particpate, but you must be able to commit the time necessary to attend the classes, tours and demonstration site sessions (only one absence is allowed) and to complete the community service payback hours.

Classes will be held about once a week for 10 weeks on a combination of Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. You'll have tons of fun, and you're guaranteed to meet others who are committed to the environment and to their communities!

Approximately 25 participants will be selected. If the course is over-subscribed, preference will be given to Denver residents.

Call us at 303-292-9900 to confirm your interest, and we will contact you in January to arrange a short interview.

If you do not reach us directly, please leave your name, complete address, home and work telephone numbers on our voice messaging system. If you have questions about the program, we'll be happy to call you back with the answers.

If you find you cannot participate in this year's class because of schedule conflicts, but you'd like to be notified about next year's class, call us and we'll put you on the list of 2004 prospects to contact next fall.

We appreciate your interest in composting, and we very much hope you'll consider participating in the program!
